
Joshika Komarla (Zoologist)
Joshika Komarla graduated with a B.S. from St. Joseph’s University in 2022. She triple majored in Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology with a specialized interest in habitat management and ecology. She’s had a lifelong fascination with animals of all sorts for as long as she can remember. She spends most of her time observing birds (and the odd few snakes) in Bangalore or trekking up the hills of South India. In her downtime, she usually protects innocent cats and birds from her pup, Nala.
Experience
Joshika started her career in ecology and habitat management in the second year of her undergraduate studies at St. Joseph’s University. She participated in the taxonomic inventory of over 9,000 floral species in select urban spaces in Bangalore. Currently, She works as a field ecologist for several urban ecology projects based out of Bangalore. In her free time, she writes for several science communications publications.
